EXPEDIENT SOLUTION:
On my way to the theatre each day I would watch for junk that people put out to the curb as trash. I needed things that looked old enough to fit the time period. I found bed rails, a wooden rocking chair, small tables and crates.

Back side of barricade turntable, BELOW. Notice the Shaker rocking chair that I found at the curb, as well as the wooden crib rails. That thin white door was from our production of "Noises Off":
(By the way, much of the stuff was far too broken to save in our prop room, so I burned pieces in the Homecoming bonfire!)
